The Best of Bay competition is an annual event organized by the Panama City News Herald, where they allow the community to recognize the “Best of Bay” each year in a number of categories including beauty & health, dining, services, and entertainment & leisure.

The News Herald is a daily newspaper serving the city of Panama City, Florida. It was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1962 for exposing police officers that took bribes from moonshiners, owners of gambling operations and other nefarious characters in Bay County.
